I’m always looking for affordable and easily accessible clean beauty products to recommend to friends and family. This is why I’m super excited to share my full review and first impressions of PYT Beauty. They recently rebranded their entire makeup line, so I decided to purchase just about one of everything so I could share my honest thoughts and opinions. I had so much fun creating this playful makeup look.

PYT Beauty Relaunch
PYT Beauty is an affordable clean makeup brand that has been around for a while. I’ve always been a huge fan of their products. Recently they rolled out a brand relaunch with a bigger sustainability focus. They completely changed their packaging and introduced a whole new line of products, while eliminating many of their original products.
The new packaging immediately caught my eye with its fun and vibrant look. I think it will be an absolute hit with the younger crowd, both Gen Z and Millenials alike. This new and improved packaging is not only eye-catching but more sustainable as well. They have implemented some amazing innovations in order to be a more earth-conscious brand.
Sustainable Clean Beauty
Not only are all of PYT’s products cruelty-free, vegan, and formulated with safe ingredients, but they are now paving the way for sustainability in the beauty industry. Their relaunch came with the use of more post-consumer recycled plastic in their packaging. They also have made a lot of their products recyclable, including instructions on how to do so. Many of their tubes are now made from sugarcane-based plastic, a renewable resource. On top of that, they even use a patented ingredient that pre-degrades their plastic, creating a plastic footprint of close to 0%.
Affordable and Accessible
One of the big issues in the clean beauty industry is affordability and accessibility. This makes clean beauty more of a luxury and privilege than a choice, especially for minorities. PYT Beauty is pretty affordable with all of their products costing less than $28!! Their products are also super easy to find. Besides their e-commerce platform, you can find them at Ulta, Credo Beauty, Macy’s, and now Target.

PYT Beauty Review
If you watch my YouTube video above you can see how I created this super fun and playful makeup look using all of the PYT Beauty products that I purchased. I tried to use just about every product they offer so I can give a detailed review. I absolutely fell in love with the packaging and they had so many unique color options.
Baby Got Base Primers and One & Done Setting Spray
I’m always on the hunt for the best makeup primers and setting sprays. PYT offers both a face and eye primer. The face primer was clear and had a serum-like consistency. It is filled with nourishing ingredients like hyaluronic acid, squalene, and aloe leaf extract. I’m not sure if I noticed a visible difference in my skin when applying this primer, but it did feel good and left me with a nice tacky base.
The eyelid primer was a light nude color. It was a little messy to blend out but looked nice on the lid once blended. I noticed it helped even out my eyelids and helped my shadows to apply more pigmented. I’m not sure how it will work for darker skin tones since it is a nude color. It seems to be pretty sheer, so it may possibly work on all complexions.
The setting spray is supposed to help protect skin from pollution and blue light. It is infused with some awesome ingredients like niacinamide, rosehip extract, and lingonberry. It has a nice floral scent to it, but I wasn’t a big fan of the spray nozzle. It sprayed out pretty aggressively and didn’t feel like a fine mist as described. However, I didn’t notice that it messed up my makeup at all which I was worried about. My makeup did look quite refreshed.
Brow Goals Pencil and Holy Grail Brow Gel
I’m very particular about my brows and I usually go for a bolder brow look. I used the brow goal pencil in black to fill in my brows. The color was fine for me, but it wasn’t a very creamy pencil. I felt I had to apply a lot of pressure in order to get the look I wanted. This caused a few of my brow hairs to fall out, which is no bueno. In the end, I actually liked how my brows turned out, but I don’t think I would purchase this pencil again. If you like a lighter brow that allows you to use the pencil with softer strokes, then it may work for you.
The brow gel only comes in a clear formula, which I don’t mind. It applied very nicely and once it dried my brows had a pretty nice hold without feeling matted down or hard.
All About the Eyes
I think I was most excited about their eye makeup products. I noticed they had a variety of unique color options that I don’t often see in clean beauty. I ended up creating a super playful and colorful eye makeup look that was the star of the show in my opinion.
They have multiple eyeshadow palettes, but I purchased the Party in the Nude palette. It has shades of warm peach, vibrant blues, and more traditional nude and gold shades. The mattes were very nice and blended out pretty well. The shimmer shades are a little sheerer than I would like. It seems you may need to layer them on top of a matte shade for more pigment or use them as a light shimmer topper. The shadows themselves aren’t the best I’ve ever tried, but I think they are really nice for a budget-friendly palette. I’ve been reaching for it a lot lately and would definitely purchase their other palettes.
I decided to go with their blue eyeliner and blue mascara. They offer them both in black, but I wanted to try something different. The blue liner was soooo pretty!! It applied bright and bold. The application tip is definitely a little tricky and requires a steady hand, but I figured it out. The mascara was also amazing! My lashes were blue and I was pretty into it. It lengthened my lashes and didn’t flake or smudge at all. I could see a little bit of my naturally dark lashes peeking through, but I didn’t mind. I would definitely purchase these two again without a doubt.
I also incorporated their gold liquid eyeshadow. However, I have the original packaging and I’m not sure if the formula has changed since the relaunch. I’ve always been a huge fan of their liquid shadows. They are super pigmented and glittery. They add a glamorous touch to any eyeshadow look.
Cheeks and Lips
I chose PYT’s Hot Flush Blush in the shade Head Rush, a peach shade with a golden shimmer to it. All I can say is OBSESSED! This is a must-have spring/summer shade. It left my cheeks so golden and luminous, I didn’t even need a highlight. Highly recommend snagging this shade!
As for their Faux Sun Bronzer Duo, they only have one shade which is a bit disappointing. Unfortunately, I don’t see this shade working well for darker skin tones. If you have light to medium skin, it will work out fine. The formula itself is really pretty. One side of the bronzer is more of a golden bronze highlight and the other side is a deeper satin matte shade. It looked very beautiful on the cheeks.
They offer multiple lip products, but I decided to try out their Friends with Benefits Lip Duo. It features lipstick on one side and a gloss on the other. I chose the shade Bare All, a warm-toned nude with peach and pink tones in it. The lipstick is very creamy, but not super pigmented. It added a nice touch of color to my lips. The gloss formula added a bit more color and shine. It was not sticky at all and felt very nice on the lips.
Final Thoughts
I love the overall theme and sustainability focus of PYT Beauty’s relaunch. They are really making some great moves in the beauty industry and I love how accessible and affordable they are. I think they could improve a few of their shade ranges on particular products like the bronzer and eye primer in order to account for a wider range of skin tones. I also realized that many of their products, like their lipsticks, do not list the shade name on the packaging. For me personally, I like to know what shade I’m using so I can recommend it to others or know which one to reorder.
The performance of their products is overall good, especially for a more budget-friendly brand. I think there is definitely room to improve on some of their formulas, like their eyeshadows, brow pencil, and setting mist. My favorite products overall were the blush, bronzer, blue eyeliner, and lipstick duo.
